In early 2020 I was approached by Mesut Ozil’s team to design a range for his unreleased brand, M10 Streetwear. The collection moves away from using the ‘Mesut Ozil’ name and instead focuses on the M10 branding which follows suit alongside his other ventures, such as M10 E-Sports.

The idea was to create a collection with a wide range of products, in a variety of colours, that would appeal to the majority of Mesut’s following. We’ve worked the first collection around the idea of bringing people together and being a ‘global’ brand, including the previously designed M10 logo whilst also featuring simple type and graphics. We wanted to stay away from using Mesut’s full name as we want to attract consumers outside of football, so it’ss been shortened to ‘Ozl’ which can be seen on various designs. We highlighted some of Mesut’s largest following locations, which included the likes of London, Tokyo, and Paris to be the focus for designs and also looked into his Turkish heritage to take inspiration from the Ottoman Empire.

The inaugural ‘Global’ Collection was released in November 2020 and the second is under construction.
